The main objectives for the week were to finalize the design as a proof of concept and to write the Abstract and Chapter 1 of the proposal report.
Ian researched a new PWM Solar Charge controller for lead-acid batteries and proposed some resulting design simplifications. These simplifications include the elimination of both the fan and MCU PSUs, as the load output can be used to power the fans, and the USB output of 5 V and 2.5 A can be used to power the MCU and its peripherals. The proposed controller can be found on the Proposed Budget, and is shown below.
Next, Ian wrote the Abstract, Introduction, and Motivation of the proposal report.
