Week 24 : 1/30/2023 - 2/6/2023

This week, the main build was commenced with Ian and Daniel beginning to combine the various modules for initial testing.

Ian focused primarily on soldering all necessary boards for the project, combining components and wiring on prototyping boards per our circuit diagrams in order to integrate them to a common mounting plate for future connection to the solar panels, battery, and cooling module. This required a great deal of time and effort on his part and was an instrumental step for the project to move forward.

Daniel focused on the physical wiring and how connections to each module would be made to the PCBs placed on the mounting plate procured by Ian. The IP65 cabling will be placed close to the box housing the mounting plate with wiring running to each terminal block from there. Holes were drilled into the mounting plate and standoffs were set for each board with the PWM controller being located in the lid of the container used for our electronics. Locations for the Thermistor and IR sensors on each of the vent visors was allocated and will be fine tuned during initial testing. Mounting will likely be done with simple epoxy after the proper angle for the Thermistor and IR sensors are decided upon.

The next step will be to route wiring from each vent visor to the terminal blocks located on the board and ensuring proper communication between sensors and the load. Multi-Color 22AWG wiring was ordered in preparation for this. By the end of next weekend, we expect to have a mock test run.
